El Acuario Hotel, Playa del Carmen

I had a great time at El Acuario Hotel in Playa del Carmen. The location was perfect for me as it was a quiet distance from the busy tourist areas, yet close enough to walk to 5th Avenue and the beach. The staff was attentive, and I appreciated the affordability of my stay. However, I did notice that the rooms, while spacious and clean, showed signs of age, though I heard renovations are planned.
